Spring has finally sprung in Boston!!! It takes a while for this place to warm up, but once it does, the city comes alive! I spent almost all weekend outside (and not cooking, whoops!) and it was glorious. Today we had a high of 85 degrees – a hot, breezy, and wonderfully summery. Aaaand…what’s a summer day, without ice cream?!
A place that is notorious amongst my friends for shameless indulgence is The Scoop and Scootery in Arlington, MA. Right on Mass Ave. as you enter Arlington from Somerville, this place has the richest ice cream I have ever tasted. Quite a quirky place, it also offers delivery and is open until 2 am!
A mini (their smallest size which is still quite large) is about $6.
My personal favorite are the sundaes – I like the Murica (hah…) which is French vanilla ice cream topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and super decadent whipped cream. YUM…
Thinking I might do a summer feature on favorite ice cream shops around Boston…I don’t eat ice cream a ton but I appreciate a good scoop when I do indulge! Scoop & Scootery is a little too much for me personally, but for those with a insatiable sweet tooth, this will hit the spot 🙂
