Last weekend, a friend was in town, and we had the chance to explore Boston together! Of course we took him to the Common and the Public Garden; walked a bit on Newbury Street; and he spent a lot of time in Harvard Square. When he mentioned wanting food and to be indoors (it is still bitterly cold here even though it is nearly April…), I immediately thought: Boston Public Market! If you have not been yet, definitely pay it a visit.
BPM is like the hipster, locally-sourced, slightly more upscale sister of the popular tourist destination Quincy Market. It is just down the street from Quincy and offers food, but also local produce, nuts, cheese, and crafts. They even have an amazing liquor selection full of local wines, beers, etc. LOVE it.
Here are some photos I took while exploring together. While we were there, I tried my first oyster!! I was super scared because I think I have had a pretty bad allergic reaction to mussels before, so I only had one, but boy did it remind me of the ocean. It really made me miss summer. I wasn’t super sold on oysters, but I could totally see why people like them so much, especially in the summer months. Maybe I’ll be bolder next time and have two or even three!!
Any fun plans for the weekend? 🙂
