We can all agree that the past week has been a crazy whirlwind of change. It was comforting this weekend to seek company among open-minded friends and celebrate the Chinese New Year in the midst of these changes. Our support of one another is so important in these times, and I am grateful to have such wonderful people in my life!
After dim sum at Hei La Moon (which I helped facilitate since I am most familiar with dim sum, and thus did not document in pictures…), we were in need of coffee to ward off our food comas. We stumbled upon a lovely Japanese cafe on Milk St (how appropriate) called Ogawa, a self-proclaimed urban sanctuary which certainly lives up to this designation.
This beautiful space was very intentionally designed to provide a peaceful, restorative space in which to enjoy one’s coffee. They are also offering a latte art class, if anyone is interested!
We sampled the hot chocolate, cappuccino, and the houjicha tea latte. The houjicha was similar to matcha – less sweet, but just as enjoyable. Hoji is a type of roasted green tea (as opposed to steamed), giving it a distinct red-brown color.
Overall the cafe had a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere – will definitely visit again now that I know of its existence 🙂 Don’t you just love discovering new gems in your own city?
